PB Gelatins / PB Leiner is a well established and renowned gelatin producer whose origins date back to more than a century ago. PB stands for Pont Brûlé, the site in Vilvoorde, Belgium where the company started its operations in 1880. Since 1964 PB Gelatins is a division of Tessenderlo Group, an international chemicals group which employs around 5200 people in more than 100 branches in 21 countries.
Gelatins is a growing worldwide and truly international Business Unit with operations and sales spread over all continents. The Gelatins BU has an aggressive growth plan being implemented right now through several strategic initiatives. Such growth requires strong focus on key projects and a sound results-driven performance both at BU level as well as in all the regions.
In that frame of reference, PB Gelatins is opening a new role as:
Global Technical Support Engineer Food
(permanent job, Vilvoorde – near Brussels, m/f)
You are the technical link between the global food market, production and R&D and act as the support expert on the complete range of our gelatins, including specialties, in order to fulfill our mission as a worldwide gelatin & hydrolisate solution provider.
You are the technical reference in the global PB organization and you are in charge of the technical support to the customers, prospects and agencies.
You provide, directly and indirectly technical training to colleagues, customers, prospects and agents.
You report to the Global Technical Support and Development Manager who advises on priorities for the R&D and application labs for working on customer solutions and new product and application development.
You are also responsible for the technical documentation related to the different applications of our products.
You will be located in Belgium; your region of action will be Europe, Asia and the Middle East and You will travel up to 50%.
Master’s degree in Chemical, Food, Bio-engineering or Pharmaceuticals or equivalent by experience
At least 10 years of successful experience in an international environment
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
Ability to function well within a matrix reporting environment
Proven skills working independently with cross-functional teams
Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organisation
Excellent communication, commercial, interpersonal and intercultural skills
English is a must, Dutch, French, German, … are a great asset
