Pastry Chef
Established in 1902 and overlooking the Ilen River, The West Cork Hotel is in the heart of Skibbereen. The West Cork Hotel combines period features with modern facilities and has a busy restaurant and bar, along with wedding and conference facilities. We are currently going through a major expansion programme, adding 20 new bedrooms this summer and are currently recruiting a Pastry Chef to join our energetic team. This is a full time position.
Ideal Candidate:
- Candidate must have fluent English and at least 2-3 years relevant Pastry experience, preferably in a 3/4 Star Class environment
- Considerable knowledge of pastry ingredients, bread baking & the methods and equipment used in baking
- Good knowledge of HACCP & food hygiene methods
- Ability to maintain records of output, quantities of ingredients used, and supplies on hand
- Knowledge of the kitchen operation
- Assist in planning menus and making suggestions for improvements in this section
- Put your own Creative Touch on our popular Sunday Lunch Dessert Buffet
- Prepare special pastries for banquets and other occasions.
