Main Purpose of the Job: 

The successful candidate will join a fast growing company who truly value their employees and offer excellent scope for professional development in a multi-tiered team of engineers. The IT Engineer  will provide support as part of the SLA fulfilment with the customers.

Job Objectives

  • Provide proactive monitoring, alerting and maintenance of all of the systems i.e. servers both virtualised and physical
  • Building/troubleshooting/maintaining MS Server 2003/2008/2012
  • Building/troubleshooting/maintaining MS Windows XP & windows 7
  • Linux server support required
  • Work on troubleshooting issues arising from Proactive monitoring or critical alerts
  • Work on troubleshooting tickets as assigned to thesupport queue
  • Where applicable and agreed, provide support to project work
  • Internal support for BIS team members as required
  • Available as a resource for any issues (e.g. facility Credant support, HP support etc.)
  • Internal support for Westbourne helpdesk, support, and deployment as required
  • Assist with tickets that are causing issues where possible
  • Take control of technical service issues, include initiating escalation procedures and following through on all open calls to customer satisfaction on allocated sites
  • Manage HP Blade enclosure, monitoring the 3 Blades OA, Blade inbuilt Brocade admin & configure server ports when required
  • 3-5 years experience with VMware system environments on both Server and Client side with VM certification desirable  - building/troubleshooting/maintaining support for ESX4.5 & 5.1 & 6 ESZ hosts in 2 site clusters ,VMware- vSphere ESXi 5.1.
  • VMWare vSphere Troubleshooting

Maintaining security policies in the controlling of Symantec Antivirus and Technical Knowledge 


Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Over 5 years IT experience in similar role
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and operating systems
  • 3-5 years experience with VMware system environments on both Server and Client side.
  • VMware Certified
  • Knowledge of Storage solutions such as EMC VNZ5300
  • Knowledge of Citrix, Symantec AV
  • Building/troubleshooting/maintaining MS Server 2003/2008/2012, VSphere 4 & 5.
  • Familiarity with AD maintenance, GPO Creating/editing/troubleshooting
  • Strong Customer facing skills
