Sam McCauley Chemists Group, the unique and highly successful "One Stop Health and Beauty Shop", are the leading Irish owned pharmacy chain with 28 branches nationwide and over 550 employees. We are currently looking for a Commerical Accountant to join our Finance Team in our Support Office in Ardcavan Business Park on the outskirts of Wexford town.

As Commercial Accountant, you will report to the Group Financial Controller and will be responsible for the following:

• Working cross functionally with numerous departments ensure system effectiveness and analysis of performance against sales, margin and cost targets.
• Financial Control of Capex and other projects.
• Weekly forecast and period reporting.
• Supporting the formulation of detailed budgets.
• Reporting and deciphering the key underlying drivers in relation to store performance.
• Maintain strong cross functional relationships with other departments including Operations, Purchasing, IT and Marketing, to enable the effective communication and speedy resolution of issues.
• Assist in the ongoing review, development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
• Ensure the integrity, quality and timeliness of the financial systems to deliver information to the business.
• Supporting all non-resale procurement to include Processing Administering Ensuring that procurement.
• Various ad hoc tasks and project work.

Suitable applicants will have a strong commercial acumen, ideally have a sound understanding of the Irish Retail Market and will have the following Skills and Experience:

• Professionally Accountancy Qualification or Business degree preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience with exposure to Retail or FMCG an advantage
• Financial reporting & analysis experience
• You will have a strong commercial acumen and ideally have a sound understanding of the Irish Retail Market
• A self-starter, highly motivated with a continuous improvement focus
• A fast learner and open to new ideas
• Strong communication skills with an ability to engage fully with all business functions
• Highly systems oriented and literate
• Experience of working to deadlines is crucial
• Strong excel skills essential for this role
